Without the fear to travel to receive education she has attended multiple hands on cutting classes with Deva Curl, Aquage and Sebastian, along with hands on color classes with Goldwell, Wella, Kenra, & Kevin Murphy. Talia’s continual training has proven to be very effective in keeping her up to date on the latest color, cutting and styling techniques. Talia found a true love in cutting curly hair in 2012, and expanded that training in 2013 while attending additional training in California. She uses Goldwell color and loves doing precision and texturizing haircutting on dry hair. Talia’s passion is creating natural looking color and highlights while keeping the integrity of the hair in mind. “This is just something we built from the ground up with our own hands,” Chase said. Without hiring any contractors, decorators or securing loans or grants, Chase and Coleman did everything independently. All of our ladies are so welcoming and amazing,” Coleman said. “Sometimes salons get the reputation of not being very friendly or welcoming. Coleman said Apex’s warm, friendly atmosphere extends into their staff’s commitment to friendly customer service. It’s a really pretty jungle theme.”īut Apex isn’t just about appearance. “I wanted you to walk in there, and say, ‘Woah, I wasn’t expecting that.’ I don’t think it feels like a typical nail salon. “I wanted it to feel really different,” she said. Chase said they were going for a Miami, tropical vibe. The space is purposely decorated with plants, pink and green on the walls - providing a relaxing oasis ambiance. Down the line, I do want to open a school.”Īpex has six manicure stations and two pedicure stations, offering intricate nail art and designs, acrylics, natural manicures and other custom pedicure packages. “We wanted to give them a bit more of an education and our real-life experience - really shape them to be some of the best nail technicians in town. “We have been finding that nail schools really just teach you the basics,” she said. Chase said, along with their current staff, she aims to have nail technician apprenticeships, teach students her craft and share some life lessons, as well. And while this is the first business for Chase, 31, she has big plans for not only her future in the industry, but also future generations of nail technicians. along with discounts on acrylic toes, freestyle sets, deluxe pedicures and apex manicures.Īpex Nails & Spa marks the second business for Coleman, 33, who also owns ENL Nail Supply across the street.
